Commissioner Patt Scheckel Hollingsworth

Commissioner Hollingsworth is a police officer with 35 years of experience. She began her career with the Arlington Police Department in 1974 and continues to serve as a reserve police officer. She is a graduate of the NCTCOG Regional Police Academy in BCAPS #29. She began teaching at the academy as a guest instructor in 1975.

Commissioner Hollingsworth is a graduate of Washburn University with a BA in Criminal Justice and a BA in Corrections. She was the president of the Criminal Justice Assn. and Lambda Alpha Epsilon Criminal Justice Fraternity.

Commissioner Hollingsworth holds TCLEOSE licenses and certificates which include: Basic Intermediate, Advanced and Master Peace Officer, Instructor, Mental Health Peace Officer, and Special Investigator Certificate. In addition, she is an instructor in PPCT defensive tactics, SHARP, OC Instructor Trainer, Police Emergency Vehicle Operation, Advanced SAFVIC, Cyber Crimes instructor, Advanced Ethics, Cultural Diversity, and Prism Firearms Judgment Simulator.

Commissioner Hollingsworth has served on numerous TCLEOSE committees for curriculum development and testing. She has developed curriculum for on line courses and has done numerous projects with Law Enforcement Television Network. She has conducted and coordinated assessment centers for selection of chiefs of police, training supervisors and coordinators.

Commissioner Hollingsworth is an adjunct faculty member with Institute for Law Enforcement Administration and serves on the Ethics Council. She is the past Chair of the Texas City and County Training Coordinators Consortium. She is an associate member of the North Texas Police Chief’s Association.

Her awards include: 2007 Sexual Assault Family Violence Investigator Course Instructor of the Year. Arlington Police Dept. Community Service Award, Youth Service Award and has been named Reserve Officer of the Year on two occasions. She participated in Texas State and International Police Olympics and received 16 medals in track and field competition. She holds the distinction of being the first female officer assigned as a detective with Arlington PD and as the first female member of the SWAT team.

Ms. Hollingsworth has been married to her husband Jim for 29 years and they have three children.
