Education, Credentialing, & Special Services Division

Functions and Duties:
The Education, Credentialing, & Special Services Division is devided into four separate units to carry out the various responsibilities of the division.
The Credentialing Unit responsible for the licensing and certifications of Texas peace officers, county jailers, telecommunicators.
The Education & Training Unit is responsible for curricular and program development, maintenance and validation, training provider assistance and evaluation, and examination administration, to include development, maintenance, and validation.
The Special Services Unit is responsible for on-line and distance education, coordination of exam sites, database management, data analysis, report development, web management, technology infrastructure, systems, and program security.
The Field Services Unit is comprised of field agents who are located in specific geographic regions state-wide. These agents work in the field with agencies on-site.
